The Brewery Project presents “Techno Eyes Filled with Gleaming Fire from More Than a Thousand Flourescent Bulbs,” an exhibition of work by contemporary artists from Los Angeles, organized by April Durham.

This exhibition, in the words of the artist organizer, presents:
“A contemporary effort to engage with the sublime that is not about reduction and classification in the tradition of Modernism (an ambitious quest for nailing down the Truth), but about connecting with the ephemeral nature of the idea.

Evocation is no longer predicated on a singular, final quest for the ultimate good, a determining of the ‘philosophical truth of art’ (Danto, 29). Rather it is about open-endedly exploring the possibilities of meaning-making in a cultural and ideological environment that is continuously inventing itself through television, cinema, the Internet, and the vast, constantly changing landscape of technology.”
